Brecon Swim Club is a completely volunteer run club and, as such, is dependent on the goodwill of others in order to provide your children's club sessions. We believe this approach is a great way of providing your children with a happy, interesting and enjoyable time.

We always welcome, and indeed actively encourage, any parents to help out with the running the club. There are several ways of helping - all of which will need a DBS check:

Poolside Helpers - No experience of coaching / teaching is necessary as we can provide guidance poolside. Sessions are planned by Coaches; poolside helpers manage the session with advice from experienced swimmers and coaches. THIS IS A VITAL ROLE TO ENSURE BEST USE OF POOL TIME.

At some point we would encourage volunteers to attain coaching qualificationS and the club may help to pay for the cost of this in return for a time commitment. If you're successful and ambitious, the Club may be able to help with other qualifications.

Aquatics GB Officials / Time Keepers - When the club sends swimmers to competitions (Meets) it is asked to provided Officials and / or Time Keepers to help run the meet efficiently. Short courses are available to aquire a varierty of qualifications. Volunteers are also needed for these meets. See https://www.britishswimming.org/browse-sport/swimming/officials/officials-qualifications-training/ for details.

Committee Members - All this requires is coming to a meeting a few times a year! We hold committee meetings to review how the club is doing and make any necessary decisions. The more input we get, the better decisions we make for our swimmers, so we really encourage people to be part of this process.

If you believe you can be part of the future of our Club, please speak to a current member of the Committee, our Coaches, or email secretaryswimbrecon@gmail.com
