As of December 2025, Brecon Swim Club is at capacity. Our pool has only 4 lanes and we swim only 2 evenings per week. so for safety and efficiency of coaching, numbers of swimmers must be limited.
Having reviewed the standards needed to be accepted for a trial we will be looking for a minimum of Stage 7 of the Swim Wales programme. It is particularly important that swimmers hvae sufficient stamina to complete an hour of training at a pace to match current swimmers in Lane 4 (entry level). The Club is not an alternative to Swim School so it's also important that swimmers are competent in at least 3 of the 4 recognised strokes and can attempt a dive (these are included in the Stage 7 competencies).
